Developing a customer focused approach at your school sports facility

At the Enterprising School Sport conference which takes place on 29th January at Powerleague Woodlands Academy, Coventry  Andrew O’Brien, Principal, Accrington Academy will be talking about how the Academy in its five year plan has a stated aim of becoming a community ‘learning hub’. Andy is keen to point that from his perspective this can only be achieved if the school reconsiders its traditional relationships with its stakeholders and looks for a different future model. Part of the academies new model revolves around creating a sporting infrastructure that replicates standards in elite sporting venues and developing a ‘customer’ focused approach to development.

The presentation will focus on developments of a new community zone, elite coaching centre and petting infrastructure.

Andy Obrien is currently principal of Accrington Academy in Accrington, Lancashire. The school is an 11-18 mixed Academy with 1150 students on role. The academy has specialisms in sport and mathematics.
