How to empower, encourage and support vulnerable young people through sport

This is one of the presentations at the conference Enterprise and Collaboration – The way forward for community sport and physical activity in Wales.

This is a one-day event focussing on how Welsh community sports providers can meet the challenges and benefit from new opportunities created by changes in people’s lives, the political landscape and the economic situation.

The conference is held on 26thJune 2014 at SWALEC Stadium, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff

This presentation will be delivered by Mark Peters, Start Again Project, Birmingham

Start Again works with young people who are care leavers or homeless experiencing, recovering or at risk of mental ill health, substance abuse, family breakdown and barriers to the employment market. Start Again keeps young people mentally and physically healthy through a bespoke and innovative football and wellbeing coaching service – commissioned by NHS Birmingham Public Health for the 5 years then recently by Birmingham City Council Public Health.
